Onions Brings Tears to our Eyes . A view from a Durham fan
Ask the captain not me.

We have a surprise 2nd day report from a Durham perspective with some great photos to follow.
Having been one of those that did not bother with day 1, the day started promisingly with the sight of a cormorant riding a thermal – well that is what it looked like.Faltered a bit when I just missed the connecting 271 and ‘another day in Camden town syndrome’ loomed when I got to the bus stop and a hefty Mrs Tourettes was in full obscene word flow, butthings continued well as she was soon whisked off by a 168.
Missing the 271 meant that I walked up the steps of the Allen stand to the sound of Strussy bowled for 0 second ball.It was all action; Denly out for one, Onions obviously a bit tricky to play today [I think he likes Lord’s], score 2 for 2, and then 2 for 3 as Thorpy struck.I have to say I do rather like it when we make Lord’s go quite.
I like Mr Malan, he always plays well when I’m watching, most recently at Beckenham, and today he looked good with the first boundary of the day.You never know what you are going to get with Mitch – I took a picture of him, he took Rogers wicket.28 for 4.Scotty is always good for bounding about when he takes a catch.
We bowled surprisingly well!I went to the Pav.As I arrived one of the stewards had apparently sent some of the Durham committee to the Middlesex room rather than to where they were meant to be having lunch.I spent a while on the white benches and glimpsed Lower Pav in the distance, I decided it was probably best not to go bounding up to him.
I had to make do with just the 4 wickets. The rain came, and the hail, and the lightning. My day 2 was only going to last till 3pm.So I went to look for the other hard core traveling Durham supporters, my first chance to catch up with them this year.We stowed away in the Warner bar and had a marvelous glass half empty chat about the state of our bowling attack.
3pm duly arrived and I was able to walk to the tube in the sun, leaving the match at 57 for 4.There was pizza for ‘lunch’ at work. And Tescos had chocolate éclairs at a much reduced price. All in all a good day.
Even the bowler Durham decided was surplus to our requirements produced 4 wickets for 43 off of 25 overs at Canterbury. Some of our current bowlers are better than others, Middlesex might yet be glad that we are playing them rather than him. And any batting collapse you can do………
Thanks for the report. You should have come over and said hello.
The same as pantherlike. No pictures are showing on my computer. Just blank squares and a tiny square in the middle and written words describing the action at the bottom of each square. However I do have a picture next to the heading of the report to the left
Moderators or Jonathan.A simple explanation please.

I suspect you are going home in a much better mood than seemed likely at one stage today.
I would not know a bandwidth problem if it came and sat next to me. Modern technology, in particular computers, is something I will never get to grips with.

• 668 sent Barmy Kev the photos as an attachment in an email
• Barmy Kev right-clicked the image in the email and then selected something like "copy image URL"
• Barmy Kev pasted the URL into MTWD
Doing that means that anyone logged into Barmy Kev's email account can view the images, but anyone not logged in can't view the images, hence why Barmy Kev can see the images, but everyone else can't. I am fairly sure this is the case, as right-clicking where the images should appear in this article and clicking on "View image" or "Open image in new tab" (which can only be done by clicking on "View a Printer Friendly version of this Story") directs to a Yahoo! page which says that I am forbidden from seeing the image on my server, which implies that the reason why I can't see it is because I am not logged in.
Had the images been copied onto a site where images can be seen by everyone, then I doubt this problem would have occurred.
I expect that I will be able to see the below image which I have copied from my email account, although I don't think anyone else will be able to see it:
I would have written my theory earlier, but I thought it might have been rude to have done so.
I think I know what I need to to do sort this out. There will be more photos of day 4 too. This will be hopefully sorted Monday evening. I apologise on behalf of MTWD and Sportnetwork for any inconvenience caused.
Pics now up and looking good they are too, nice lens work 668.
Still waiting for Kev's apology to Pantherlike to hit print after the "meeting" I had with him on Sunday. Don't worry Pantherlike he's probably struggling with the font size of it.
I'd like to apologise to anyone who thought it was down to their PC the pictures did not come out. If as result of trusting my IT skills and you bought a PC Monday please send me the receipt and my legal team will consider a full refund.
