No snatching this one back after the last session of Day 3. Aaron Laraman put up some fight with Nixon to get us over 300 but they needed 70 and got them in 13 overs.
We needed lots of runs from not many batsmen. Ian Blackwell needed to put on a show and the bowlers were left to pull us out of the fire again. He didn't and they didn't and although Laraman hit 39 and Nixon dragged himself off his bed of pain to add 35 off 21 we were skittled out by Kirby (who else) for 306
It was never enough and Wood and Fleming were in a hurry, they took Nixon for 22 off 4 and Jonah for 30 off 3. 14 points and a 10 wicket win.
Where do we go from here? We have to go with what we have. No Caddick, No Johnson, No Bulbeck, Nixon in pain, - little to smile about in the bowling department.
Batting? Well if we are to get up into Division One, this is where it is going to have to happen. Give us big scores or we will be also rans in this competition as well. The bowlers need something to work with.
Wonder what the odds on promotion are now? We need someone to come very very good very very quickly.
