In part two of our review we rate the remainder of the touring team and look at the good and bad points that England can take away from the series. NASSER HUSSAIN- 7
He really struggled to cope, both with his game and his captaincy. Made some poor decisions, particularly putting the Aussies in to bat in the 1st test. At times he really struggled with the bat, but he tried to pull through and in the end managed to score some runs.

SIMON JONES- 7
Bowled well in some of the tour matches and looked promising in the few overs he was able to bowl in the first test. If he can stay free of injury this year, he will become an important figure in the squad.

ROBERT KEY- 6
His superb century in one of the tour matches gave him an opportunity to play some test cricket. However, he was disappointing and didn’t put a huge price on his wicket. Did score his first test fifty. He has talent, but needs to show it.

CHRIS SILVERWOOD- *
No rating given as we cannot really judge him on four overs. Was unlucky as he was put in the test squad on the back of no match practice on the tour. Can’t see him playing much test cricket over the next few years.

GREAT GRANDAD (ALEC STEWART)- 7
There’s no doubting his stamina. His batting was good and he backed it up with some solid work behind the stumps. Has he played his last Ashes test?

MARCUS TRESCOTHICK- 5
Very disappointing tour. For a player who has as much class as he does, he is yet to show any of it against the Aussies. His average against the old enemy is poor and he is yet to make a century. If he wants to prove his talent, he needs to score runs against the better sides. The South African series this summer will test his ability to do this.

ALEX TUDOR- 4
So much had been expected of him when he burst on the scene on the previous ashes tour. Since his match winning performance against the Sri Lankan’s in the summer series, his form has been abysmal. He needs to be more consistent to succeed at international level.

MICHAEL VAUGHAN- 8
Undoubtedly England’s player of the tour. He carried on from where he left off in the summer and really is a world class talent. His only problem is that when he doesn’t make a century he tends to get out very early on. Must also improve in the field where he dropped too many catches.

CRAIG WHITE- 7
Batted very well during the 1st innings of the 4th test and for the first few tests he was our top wicket taker, even if some of it may have been luck. He is another one that needs to stay injury free in order to progress.

PLUS POINTS:
Vaughan's development into a world class player.
Winning the final test in order to prevent a series whitewash.

NEGATIVES:
All departments of the bowling. We still lack a good spinner and the injuries to Gough and Jones, together with Hoggard's loss of form really weakened the attack.
The tail- needs to be stronger in order to prevent continual collapses.
Marcus Trescothick's lack of form in the series.
