Indian board stand in way

John Embury has warned Middlesex fans not to get carried away at reports that Indian bowling hero Anil Kumble will join the Lord's club claiming that approval needs to be given by the Indian Cricket Board. "We are looking to sign him. We just need to get confirmation from the Board of Control. He is happy to come," coach John Emburey told BBC Sport.

Approval is likely to be a week or so away as Kumble is in the Indian Test squad for the final, deciding test against Australia in Sydney starting tomorrow morning (Friday 2nd January)
