What's the deal with Sportnetwork? At the moment it's pretty simple. They host the site for free. We fill it with content that attracts readers. No money changes hands. We get an excellent fan site infrastrucutre, they get a market to sell adverts. It works out well on both sides. Hopefully this is a more robust model than one employed by Rivals who paid the site editors (in some cases quite a lot of money) to provide articles. Nice work for them, but in the end it folded. I hope that sportnetwork - and therefore this site - last a bit longer than the old one.

But (and here's the point) Sportnetwork are a commercial business and if we want it to succeed, and we want this site to have a long life, and we'd like more features and more development, then some ummmm ... revenue would help.

What can we do? Simple enough - put some advertising on the site. The deal here is that advertising revenues for the site are split 50/50 between ourselves, and the network. Rates start very cheaply (from £200 pa) so you don't need to be Nike to afford it.

What can you do ?
- would you, or your company like to advertise?
- does any of you out there have any relevant skills/experience in selling advertising, and like to devote a few hours work on the site's behalf?

What happens to the money? Well, as explained sportsnetwork get 50%, we get the rest.

Jeremy and I have discussed this and decided that in the unliekly event that we ever do raise any money we would use it to
a - reimburse out-of-pocket expenses (costs for developing photos)
b - improve the quallity of the site
c - Line our pockets

Running the site is fun but hard work. I have spoken to Dave Picken who helps run the network and they do need help in meeting the costs of running the network.
