Willing Volunteer

Before the match due to start, I met Rogers and Out.  We were discussing the sensational win by England v Wales. But enough of Middx Glammy game.

It was sunny in Hampstead at 5:30 when we caught 268 bus to game, worrying we may miss start. Not an issue , it peed down the moment we arrived at Lord's. 

To keep myself amused , I thought I would try to enter "our Club shop". I was asked by MCC employee for a membership card of some kind before I was allowed in and not a problem once I showed my Middlesex membership. I asked what would happen for Middlesex fans without necessary ID  who wanted to buy  Middlesex merchandise. I was very politely told they would not be allowed in. Hmm!.

We tried out various bars on perimeter of ground. All around us in good spirits, no one seemed bothered there was no prospect of play as rain was progressively heavier.  It peed down even more and we decided to go home. As heading down to the Nursery End Gates as we were discussiing our realistic qualification in 20/20 and RLC we heard chants of Ingerland Ingerland Ingerland in the distance. I take it they won't be at 4 day game against Lanky.

Bring on decent weather and proper cricket. Please!
