Hodd carries the load for heavy Yorkshire tail

Fair Enough

Beefy covers most of day 2 with the gulls delivering stuff akin to some of our bowling

Yesterday's sweepstake was who gets the first seagull present. West Ham Graham won and his winnings were spent on a dry cleaning bill. Today's sweep was what time will Kev appear.

Weather forecast is Windy, Sunny, Cloudy , Westerly breeze. Murts TRJ open the bowling as Finny is our 3rd choice. Yorkies are 300-6. TRJ bowls Rhodes .for our 2nd bowling point.

Kev arrives at arrives 11.35 ten people tell him not very politely to go away. Lower Pav embraces him as he wins £11. Kev is very confused until all is explained.

After 110 overs we only achieve 2 bonus points and Yorkies 3 not risking the 4th. Ballance eventually caught and bowled from Franklin not easy to spot the catch. Rafiq out soon after for just less than 1.

New name for TRJ as there were lads with RJ's chip, shop on back of their shirts so his temporary nickname is "chippy".

As seagulls swarmed over us looking for food there were various bird impersonations which included Seaxe Man impersonating a chicken when a woodpecker passed us. You had to be there.

Hodd carries the tail and scores 37 . Yorkshire 406 all out which included a six from Brooks of Finny  so Kev told me when I was at the pub just before lunch.

Return to ground for start of innings and hope we are better than 11-4 compared with last time here. PLEASE! First ball Robbo hits a four better start than Yorkshire had.

39-0 from 10 overs spin is bought in. Seaxe Man coat has taken a pounding from a sea gull and soon after Robbo launches Rafiq for 6. Andréw Strauss walks by and acknowledges our England's no 1 chant as we reach 50.

Oh dear its 87 1 and 94-2 . At tea it is 94 2. And the light its grim as gulls swoop in looking for our left overs. At 114 -2 the umpires chat for ages and off for bad light. I have given up for the day .

Kev tells me he returned to the ground and there were few more overs where Rhodes dropped a dolly at square leg. He also told me he applauded loudly when he fielded next ball. We finish 130 2. Looks like another draw. Any excuse for a celebrstion after as we have a pub crawl of Scarborough which I'm not able to report on

The MTWD banner signing by all and sundry including the oppo fans was a nice extra.

Have to say that the advance weather forecast was this time accurate.

It forecast a dry but coldish 4 days, with the 2nd day Monday. likely to be the only one for an interruption, and so it proved in the 3rd session..
