'It's a pre season  game that is not a first class one because Cambridge University have played two previous ones (err?) I'm heading to Fenners regardless.  I'm even more confused as my Sat Nav takes me to the concourse of block of flats with cricket ground in sight but no way through. I looked more suspicous than normal. I arrived at the ground just after midday paying a fiver entrance. 

0 wickets down on arrival. We lost 3 before lunch. Robbo "caught" behind I'm sure he didn't hit it, no issues when Eski out clean bowled and Gubbo caught at slip bamboozled by the quality spin of Callum Guest.

I was trying to convince those around me of my intellect saying I've been to Cambridge. I have and QPR won 3-0 The response was it's going to be a long season. 

Time for liquid refreshment led by Rogers and Out to a pub that was was Real Ale credited. It was a longer walk than anticipated and some members of the party were getting restless. We all enjoyed our beverage in the Cambridge Blue beer garden especially Fulham Des with his Badgers Spit. We observed many punters climbing outdoor steps from the fields to enter this establishment. We were advised by the pub landlord this route is a short cut back to the ground. It was through a graveyard and there were some morbid comments involving Graves and the death of County Cricket.

Back at Fenners , despite obscured view to scoreboard I was able to applaud on cue Simmo's 50 . Then there was Mala's  ton . Soon after was caught and bowled by their demon bowler Be My Guest. 

I was not there for the long haul,and left soon after tea with us particulary TRJ scoring freely. Cambridge to their credit were tidy in the field and made us work hard for our runs. I heard we ended up 392 all out with their most dangerous bowler Sam Rippington taking a Michelle.

This pitch clearly had demons and allegedly Cambridge lost 2 early wickets and are likely to struggle against our strong looking attack.. 

A good pre season warm up for players who maybe rusty bit like me as our match reporter
