Hampshire 40/0 off 6 overs. Helm taken off, as he was like beer in a Fuller's pub very expensive.
Hampshire 70/1. Alsop caught Simmo off Dial M. Markram 44 Vince 6. 350 ish would be an expected score.
Kev arrives he has a bottle of wine with a cork but no corkscrew. Luckily his front door key came to the rescue.

Key piece of improvisation
BK
Kev takes over for now. Hants are struggling to accelerate. The guy next to me regular Hants fan says Middlesex should chase anything below 300. A poor Glamorgan side managed 290 here, which was not enough.

Murtagh’s diving catch to get rid of Rousouw was as like watching a gazelle swoop. With Fuller Berg batting it’s Middlesex v Middlesex. Stirlo made another diving catch to get rid of Abbott. with the elegance of a hippo on speed

I asked why is CP Wood the only player with his initials by his name? There was then a competition on what the CP stood for. We kept it clean and the winner I believe was the “Complete Package “or was it “Crystal Palace”? I also commented the scoreboard was good for Brexit as Remainers kept dropping ( see headline picture)
I’m happy because Helm in my prediction side takes 2 wickets in a row and picks up a Michelle, although he did ball a lot of dross. Also my 250-299 prediction looks good. Last over with Crane a genuine 11 facing Helm is unplayable. Simmo throws ball at stumps and they sneak a single. The next ball the Complete Package hits a 6 and Hants go over my prediction range. Grr!

Reply Middlesex are keeping up with run rate. Stirlo out early, Malan looks in good nick until Fuller sprawls himself for catch off Abbott. This a bitter wicket for Middlesex.
With Gubbins and Eski in match still even.
BK
Middlesex late order collapsed. Markram and Dawson put stranglehold on. Some entertainment by Finn in the end but this was a thrashing.
PC
I’m wondering when Markram leaves us and when he will come back. Like him good all round player
Generally Middlesex were poor in all departments today but they were up against last year's winners and probably this year's. Tom Helm bowled well but got a bit of a pasting. Took 5fer and kept going. Sadly the batsmen couldn't keep up the momentum. Several got a reasonable start but we're unable to keep their innings going to a 50+ performance. Especially after the Sunday game and Chelmsford. Still have a feeling they'll progress into the next stage. Beat Surrey and you're forgiven. They are capable as they are a much better side than today's effort. Best of luck Middlesex at The Kia Oval. You can win that.
