A quick whizz through the last week's action...

Leaders Nottinghamshire travelled to Worcester and were roundly trounced in a game that had some Notts members worried for their promotion chances (I know one!). The visitors won the toss and decided to field. 118 overs later they had finally wrapped up the Worcester innings, 390 all out with a century from Gareth Roderick. Notts reply wasn’t particularly strong with the home side bowling them out for 128 inside 35 overs. The bowling was tight with only 4 extras given. Asked to follow on, Notts fared better but could only manage 183 of the 262 required to draw level so Worcester beat the title favourites in three days. This was the third match in a row that Worcester had only batted for one innings, 390 being the lowest score of those three.

Worcestershire (23 pts) beat Notts (3 pts) by an innings and 79 runs

Middlesex (21 pts) beat Leicestershire (5 pts) by 80 runs

Third-placed Glamorgan met fourth placed Derbyshire at Cardiff, with the visitors winning the toss and deciding to field. Opener David Lloyd was unbeaten on 313 as Glamorgan racked up 550 for 5 declared in 135 overs. In reply Derby were bowled out for 253, Ajaz Patel taking 5 for 68 off 39 overs. Following on, Derby improved on that but their 273 all out meant an innings win for Glamorgan.

Sussex travelled to Chester-le-Street but really needn’t have bothered. Durham won the toss, elected to field and promptly bowled their visitors out for 162 in their first innings. Durham declared their first innings on 459 for 7, the only surprising part of that score was that there was no centurian in their line-up. In their second innings, Sussex were 6 for 4 after 5 overs, although they recovered to 157 for 9 all out, bowler Henry Crocombe being unable to bat after damaging his shoulder on day 1. Ben Raine took 5 wickets for 54 runs off 18 overs, including Tom Alsop, Tom Clark and Danial Ibrahim who faced 12 balls between them for no runs.

Durham (24 pts) beat Sussex (2 pts) by an innings and 140 runs

No need for a table: Notts are on 218 points, The Middle on 209 and Glammy on 200. No other teams can be promoted.
