Agarkar signing confirmed

Middlesex today recieved conformation that the BCCI are happy for Ajit Agarkar to become the first Indian to play for Middlesex. Agarkar arrived this morning and subject to all paperwork being complete, he will make his debut on Sunday in the away totesport League match at Durham.

MIDDLESEX GET CLEARANCE FOR AGARKAR TO PLAY
Middlesex have received confirmation from the BCCI on the signing of Ajit Agarkar as replacement for Nantie Hayward for one month. Agarkar, who has played in 21 test matches for India, and the club, are hoping that he can be available as early as Sunday, dependent on us obtaining all the necessary paperwork. John Emburey, Middlesex head coach, said, "We are delighted to have capture a world class fast bowler in Ajit, who is very keen to perform well for us".
