Middx openers and middle order dominate Notts bowling before rain intervenes leaving us at 210-3 at close. Meanwhile with Will Smith and Shreck in Knotts line up there was guaranteed entertainment or failing that you could have a good Read.

Observations of our batting with the help of Auntie.

Smudger. Once off mark was convinced on for century. He was severe on Shreck and Footitt and my mind was working overtime on report headline at this stage.  Having reached 31 from 40 balls caught behind chasing a wide one. Replay on SKY in background.

Hutton. More solid role. Comments on-line re leg-side trap with 2 close in fielders. Lo and behold caught spectacularly at close leg gully by Swann for 22. 

Ace-  Kevin Hand was very complimentary about range of shots in his 66. Perhaps proving, belatedly a point to selectors?

Compo-Dropped early on and looked unsteady. Once in looked settled and in command for 54 not out. What a revelation!

Stryis- A quick 16 not out form 13 balls.  Positive intent

Then rain at Trent Bridge.

 

Time to catch up with Domestics

Was convinced despite Notts rain still sunny in Edgware too.  Well it was at 11am, when I laid foundations and during my visits outside during lulls in play. However, it was simultaneously raining at home so the washing that was dry got wet and couldn’t continue with gardening due to waterlogged weeds.

Back to Sport

So was stuck with continuous tedious loop of Kevin Hand describing state of no play. Alternative, France V Switzerland in World Cup, bore 0-0.  Meanwhile domestics no further forward.  Gosh I need a holiday.

Always look on Bright Side

With weather allegedly set fair, I hope I can make up for lossed time with my failed external domestics. Meanwhile, let's hope Middlesex can get to 400 declare and take 20 wickets and I’ll be there for exciting finish Friday. Sounds like a plot from a Disney movie!
