With the damage done on days one and two day four was almost always going to be a slow lingering death rattle of a day for Middlesex. Unless wickets tumbled early there would be no chance of saving the game. Being as it would be a shortened day I drove up to Lord's and parked nice and close to the ground.

 Swing and Silvers opened the day's proceedings on a ground with more people doing the Lord's tour than watching the game. Knocker's hairstyle has not changed since the last time he played first team cricket still very short. Silvers second over of the day was a spicy one to Suttcliffe with the ball climbing around the batsman's ears. Having been pinned down by him for a couple of overs Suttcliffe then took quite a liking to the dross that Swing was dishing up despatching him for two fours in an over , not to be left out Chilton also hit him for four as well . Swing 5 overs for 27 runs.

The scores were levelled when Suttcliffe found the fence again, a Pepsi maiden followed and the winning run came off of 21.3 overs when the ball crashed into the boundary boards once more. Chilton 39n.o, Suttcliffe 34n.o. All over by 11.57hrs and the big points to Lancashire.

With such a small target to defend there was no way we were going to win or hold out for the whole day. The only positive to draw from the whole game was the batting of yesterday and I hope that some of our batters are starting to find some real form, just a shame it will coincide with the start of the " Mickey Mouse Cup" season .
