Middlesex Muppets suffer yet another humiliating 20/20 defeat. A streaker was the only evidence of balls being shown in Middlesex innings
We had an excellent start. A first over wicket and the momentum continued with Kent 80-5 after 11 overs. Then some robust hitting from Matthew Walker and Robert Key took score to 178. They were particularly severe on our slow bowlers Weekes and Rymps who both conceded 23 off in 2 overs
Our reply started well with 32 for first wicket in 5 overs. Then 3 wickets for 0 runs. A reasonable stand by Morgan and Styris followed but the Kent slow bowlers Tredwell and Patel slowed matters down and took wickets. Middx all out for a woeful 126 on a batsman friendly wicket.
Towards the end a streaker invaded the pitch. This was one of the few evidence of balls being shown at the wicket while Middx were batting
The only player who is exempt from blame is Captain Scott who took 3-25 and scored 37. However, he received very little support elsewhere.
This turned out to be a very disappointing trip. My only consolation was getting a team photo of our players on the way home.
