comebackgatt's Fantasy Cricket league returns for a triumphant third season. This year the rules have slightly changed maybe making it that harder. Closing date is 10.00am Friday 9th April. Get your thinking caps on and good luck.
WELCOME TO THE MTWD FANTASY CRICKET LEAGUE 2010
Results will be based on C.C Div Two matches only.
Selecting your team
Each team should comprise of the following:6 batsmen, 1 wicket keeper and 4 bowlers, but only one overseas player allowed. To be selected from the list of players printed below. On that list I have included most of the Middlesex playing staff, but only a selection from each of the other counties. This is to make things easier (particularly for me). I have also allocated a star rating to each player, (6-1) based on their performances in the 2009 season.
Selection Rules
You must select one player from each county, and then no more than two per county. The total star rating of your team must not total more than…40 ptsThe eleven players you pick remain your selection until the “transfer window” in early June when you may make up to four transfers.
POINTS
BATTING:1 pt for every ten runs scored, bonus of five for getting a century
BOWLING:5 pts for each wicket taken, 5 bonus points for taking five wickets in an innings.1 pt deducted for each 10 runs conceded.
FIELDING:1 point for each catch taken, 3 points for each stumping.
An updated table will be published on the board at the end of each month.
CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES IS 10.00am Friday 9TH APRIL.A SMALL PRIZE TO BE AWARDED TO THE WINNER. ALL FINAL DECISIONS ON THIS LEAGUE WILL BE MADE BY COMEBACKGATT.
Anyone know when this year's competition will be launched ?
Last year's began with the first CCh matches which this year are less than 4 weeks away now (Apr 9th).
Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 2010:03:21:01:15:53 by BarmierKev.
The details for the 2009 competition were published on 25th Match 2009, so there are still 11 days remaining before it becomes a case of "it was earlier last year".
However, the 2009 season started on 15th April, while this season is six days earlier, so in terms of avoiding it becoming a case of "we were given more time last year", there are five days remaining, which would mean it must be published by Friday 19th March 2010.
Can't wait CBG , my aim for the year is two fold , to pick players from other sides initially that Middlesex would rather see unfit in real life ( worked all last year in fantasyland ...Butcher retiring etc) and to beat the Bunny !!!
I have observed over the past few years that Hippity tends to emerge from hibernation around the time that Daisy and I spot rabbits in Boston Manor Park when playing tennis.
This year, perhaps due to the colder weather, the rabbits have not yet been forthcoming.
Is it possible that Hippity will emerge from hibernation too late??
First of all Chopper_9, yes your team has been accepted, was at Worcester so didn't get chance to email, that also goes for those who entered yesterday, you are all in. In fact there are a total of 30 teams in the league this year the best ever.
I have also been thinking the same. I know that the Essex's Overseas player is? thread (the answer to that question being Lonwabo Tsotsobe) was set up with a view to completing the list of players for a Fantasy Cricket League 2011, so clearly some thought has been devoted to running such a competition.
Gatt's a busy man, thanks for the last couple of years,it was real fun and beating the bunny last year would probably have been the height of my success anyway.
Once again Gatt thanks for a comp that took a lot of work on your part and was fun for all who took part.
