Aaron Comes; Joe Leaves

Goodbye Joe Sayers

I am under pressure to update this site at least once every two weeks during the winter when Yorkshire and their lovely neighbours up and down the country go into hibernation. This is plain silly.

Anyhow, I guess that I could at least mention to my legion of followers [sic] and interested parties that the once-promising Joe Sayers has retired, which is obviously quite sad. Joe's form completely subsided in the last couple of years, which was most regrettable, but we can all fondly reminisce on those occasions in the past where Mr S made a big contribution with the bat to the white rose cause. Happy retirement, Joseph.

Meanwhile, replacing the Australian veteran Phil Jaques is an up and coming Aussie maestro, Aaron Finch. Finch cannot boast a hugely impressive first-class batting average, but instead his prowess and growing reputation revolves around his one-day batting. If Finch can come close to his potential in our limited overs struggles, then he will prove to be a good acquisition. God knows we need a big hitter who can take our hitherto puny Twenty20 efforts on to a new and better level. Best wishes to Aaron. Here endeth this sweet update; xo.
